What is a domain name?
A domain name is your site name. A domain is the address at which internet users can access your website.
The domain is used to locate and identify computers on the Internet. Computers use IP addresses, which are a string of numbers. It is difficult for us humans to remember sequences of numbers. Because of this, domain names were developed and used to identify websites on the internet instead of using IP addresses.
A domain name can be any combination of letters and numbers and can be used in combination with the various domain name extensions (Top Level Domains – TDL) such as .de, .com, .net and many more.
The domain name must be registered before you can use it. Every domain name is unique. No two websites can use the same domain name. When someone enters www.yourdomain.com in their browser, he/she will be redirected to your website.
